Paint gorgeous; this is not a rattle can job. Professional two-stage using PPG Highland Green is the choice which is a factory option for the '68 Mustang, and High-Teck Glamour clear coat. Keeping in theme the spokes and inner rim were painted Hot Rod matte black to mimic the American Racing Torq-Thrust wheels used on the Mustang. The minimalist theme continues with most factory chrome powder coated low-sheen black, a black leather solo seat, custom front and rear fenders, single low mount mirror, chrome limp-dick brake light with complimenting turn indicators front and rear, lower Progressive rear shocks, chrome drag bars with custom button controls for the turn signals, horn, headlight and ignition (the start/run button has been eliminated). Chrome Cobra slash-cut slip-on mufflers complete the smooth tone of this bike, while the high-temp painted headers feed the sweet note. Sound can be heard in the video starting about the 1:13 mark. The original VS800 engine has been replaced with a VT800. Motor has been gone through ensuring proper compression, valve adjustments and clutch life. Carburetors have been rebuilt, jetted and synchronized properly. All fluids have been replaced: oil, forks, coolant, final drive, brakes and clutch. Galfer stainless clutch hose. Front and rear brake pads are brand new. Front tire is new; rear tire has only a few hundred miles on it. New battery, fuel pump and fuel lines. This is an eye catching bike, yet not obtrusive with tacky add-ons and obnoxious paintwork. A blast to ride!
