Our new Hammock Casting Stand provides an even better capture of the underlying anatomy in the casting process. Using our compliant force distribution techniques, we now cast the user while suspending them in a fabric hammock – which provides a socket that is perfectly contoured to the underlying anatomy.
This casting technique allows for micro-adjustments of the fit simply by pulling the special mesh fabric tighter or looser to distribute the forces evenly across the entire seating area. The hammock technique distributes the load more evenly across a broader surface area – reducing point pressures, and eliminating the need for ischial specific loading. The end result, a perfectly fitting, ultra comfortable socket with increased pelvic control.
