In the only Union Pacific steam run of the year. Union Pacific #844 faithful pulls the annual Cheyenne frontier days passenger train from Denver, Colorado to Cheyenne, Wyoming. This was a blistering hot day that turned into rain and clouds later in the evening. Unfortunately this day would end in tragedy.
A woman was stuck and killed by the train in Henderson, Colorado just outside of Denver on the return run. According to reports, the middle aged woman was standing near the outer rail and in the path of the train while filming with a cell phone. The train was traveling at approx 50 MPH when it struck the woman. It is unknown at this time if this was a suicide, if the woman was intoxicated, or if the woman just didn't realize how close she was. I do not have any photos or videos of that incident.
