How Did a 2020 Exit During COVID Lead to the Mission Behind CREATE Industries?

In 2020, during COVID, oil went negative. If you were operating anywhere near that industry at the time you know what that moment felt like. We looked at our infrastructure and made the straightforward assessment that we did not have what we needed to keep operating effectively in that environment long term.


So we exited to a strategic buyer who needed the technology we had built. They got what they were looking for. We got a clean exit on terms that worked for everyone involved. Win-win across the board.


But in this video I want to talk about what happened after that decision because I think it matters more than the exit itself.


From 2020 forward, the question that drove everything shifted fundamentally. Not how do we build and sell. But how do we help legacy industrial businesses bridge the gap to AI, machine learning, large language models, and all the innovation that is reshaping how the world operates right now.


Because legacy industries are not broken. They are the foundation this country was built on. What they need is not replacement. They need modernization. And the bridge between where they are and where they need to be in order to stay relevant, stay competitive, and keep growing in today's world is exactly what CREATE Industries is being built to provide.


A hard exit in one of the most uncertain moments in recent history pointed us exactly where we needed to go. That is the origin story of the mission.
