The Lonach Highlanders reach Bellabeg on their return march through the Cairngorms National Park in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This was on Saturday 23rd August 2025 and part of the annual Lonach Gathering, a tradition that goes back many generations. The Highlanders salute the War Memorial in the village as they pass.

The march is led by the retired policeman, James Wilson Mitchell on his bicycle, then the 3 Lonach Highlanders with their Lochaber axes, then the Drum Majors and Lonach Pipe band, followed by Sir James Forbes, Patron of the Lonach Highland and Friendly Society. The band were playing The Braes of Killiekrankie as they finished here.
The Highlanders, with their ceremonial Swords, Lochaber axes and eight-foot long pikes, are members of Clan Forbes, Clan Gordon and Clan Wallace. At the rear is Kelpie the Lonach horse, ready to carry any weary Highlanders.
The Highlanders are members of The Lonach Highland and Friendly Society, formed in 1823 and made up of men from the Strathdon area of Aberdeenshire in Scotland.
