Welcome to Hartlepool for a day of heavy-haul action and unusual diversions! Due to engineering works on the usual routes, we captured an incredible variety of freight and passenger movements through the station, including some rare liveries and heavy power.
Key Highlights in this video:
The Tyne Dock Giants: Witness 66711, 66739, and 66703 (66 7, 11 / 66 7, 39 / 66 7, 03) powering through on 6D63, hauling the heavy Tyne Dock to Doncaster service.
The Drax Power: 66741 makes an appearance on a Drax biomass movement originating from Tyne Dock.
GBRf Double Headers: 66747 and 66797 working hard on 6N64 with a rake of Tyne Dock hoppers.
The "Jaffa Cakes": A real treat for enthusiasts with two Freightliner Heavy Haul "Jaffa Cake" liveried locomotives. Featured is 66413, which now sports the new HHR (Heavy Haul Rail) lettering. We also caught 66415, currently still in the unbranded Jaffa Cake scheme—keep an eye on this one, as it’s expected to receive HHR branding and a full repaint soon!
Freightliner Power: Green machines 66589 and 66558 also make an appearance on their respective duties.
LNER Azumas: Interspersed between the heavy freight, we see the sleek LNER Class 800/801 Azumas passing through on diverted East Coast services.
