Is Las Vegas secretly one of America’s greatest art cities? In this witty and illuminating talk, museum leader Aaron Berger takes us on a whirlwind tour of high-end masterpieces hiding in plain sight - in lobbies, lounges, and even bars on the Las Vegas Strip. From Chihuly’s glass ceiling at the Bellagio to Damien Hirst’s infamous shark at the Palms, Berger challenges our ideas of where art belongs, and who it’s for.
Through personal anecdotes, cultural critique, and deep reverence for creativity, Berger makes the case that Sin City might just be the most accessible art city in the world, if we’re willing to look beyond the slots and shows.
Aaron Berger is the Executive Director of The Neon Museum in Las Vegas, where he leads groundbreaking initiatives in arts, education, and accessibility. With over two decades of experience in museum leadership across the U.S., Berger is known for blending cultural storytelling with community impact. A passionate advocate for the arts, he believes Las Vegas’s next great reinvention could be as a global hub for culture, creativity, and connection. Executive Director of the Neon Museum, is known for expanding access to the arts and driving innovative programming and has led institutions to national recognition while fostering education, inclusivity, and storytelling. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
