Super Bomberman - Four-Player Battle Mode (Actual SNES Capture)

Описание: This is a capture of me and three friends playing the battle mode in Super Bomberman for the SNES. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my Super Nintendo using an actual Super Bomberman cartridge and a Hudson Soft Super Multitap accessory. I'm player one (White Bomberman), Luke is player two (Black Bomberman), John is player three (Blue Bomberman), and Michael is player four (Red Bomberman).

Around the beginning of the Nintendo 64 era I started becoming really interested in four-player gaming on my retro systems (NES, SNES and Game Boy). I started looking into old four-player games that I never played before and began acquiring specific titles that I thought looked fun (as well as the requisite multitaps for each system).

Super Bomberman was probably the first four-player game I picked up for my SNES. I think I ordered a used copy from a Funcoland catalog as well as a Super Multitap (the four-player adapter for the SNES). I actually managed to play the four-player mode with friends back in the late '90s, and it was a blast (pun intended). I later replaced that cartridge with a complete copy of the special Super Bomberman/Super Multitap bundle.

Super Bomberman is a simple but highly addictive game that anyone can enjoy. There are tons of power-ups to collect and plenty of stages as well. My only complaint, however, is that you have to keep playing the same stage until someone reaches the kill limit. It would be nice if there was stage selection in between each round.

The four of us duked it out here for a good 40 minutes on various stages before we moved on to another four-player game. I hope you enjoy the footage.

Recorded with the Hauppauge HD PVR and the official SNES S-video cable. I used a Toshiba model D-R550 DVD Recorder to upconvert the SNES's native 240p signal to 480i so that the Hauppauge could capture the console's audio/video signal.

I'm using a Super Advantage joystick, Luke is using an Asciipad turbo controller, and John and Michael are using standard SNES controllers. We used a Hudson Soft Super Multitap accessory to enable four controller ports.
