I decided to install this on my wife’s Truck to see what my impressions would be.

She has a 1973 Dodge D100
318 V8 engine
MTD1 Stage 1 RV camshaft
SP2P 318 manifold
Tri-y headers with a single exit 3inch exhaust

*No one has paid me to do this video- I went online and spent my $40 just like everyone else. I just decided to make a video, because I figure there must be other curious or “on the fence” people looking for honest reviews of this thing.

My overall impression is that this product actually does do what it claims to do.

It may not always be experienced as an exciting jump in power or performance. But the improvement in power as well as performance is there.


For instance, if you look into any of the components listed above, you will find that none are considered exciting. This may be the reason for the result from the Thompson Performance Power Plate not being overly exciting, but it did improve throttle response, and power in the areas you might expect.


My opinion is that this device does work. And for a pricepoint of $40, my advice is to give it a go.

I believe that anyone, regardless of setup, should feel some positive result. My guess, is that if your setup is exciting to begin with, you may have exciting results.
