Описание: Fresh cracks appear to have emerged within the Grand Coalition Government, after President Kibaki appointed 47 County Commissioners on Friday. Now, the appointments have run into a wall of resistance from MPs allied to Prime Minister Raila Odinga who say the PM was not consulted, and that there was lack of public participation, regional and ethnic diversity as required by the constitution. However, Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri supported the appointments, but said a clear demarcation of their roles needed to be drawn. And as, Chris Thairu reports, the Federation of Women Lawyers, (FIDA) Kenya chapter, has also termed the appointments as unconstitutional for their lack of gender parity.
