On this International Women’s Day, I want to bring to you a discussion I had, when I had the privilege of interacting with Dr. Aleesha Adatia, a Consultant Clinical Oncologist from Uganda whose journey is a powerful reminder of what happens when women rise beyond boundaries—both the ones society places around them and the ones we sometimes place on ourselves.
In oncology, as in many demanding professions, excellence requires resilience, conviction, and the courage to pursue purpose across geographies and cultures. Conversations like these reaffirm my belief that when women choose not to limit themselves, they create pathways not just for their own success, but for many others who follow.
Today is a celebration of that spirit—the spirit of women who transcend expectations, challenge norms, and simply allow themselves to be who they are meant to be.
Here’s to more women stepping forward, claiming their space, and flying beyond boundaries.
