Eachine QX95 - Unboxing and Maiden - LoS and FPV (Banggood)

It's a micro FPV craft with and F3 board so it's no big stretch to predict that this was going to be enjoyable but this one comes close to and even exceeds the performance of my delightful Fire104 and adds buzzer support and an addressable LED strip.
The QX90 is basically a fusion of the QX80, QX90 and Fire 104 and gets close to the best of them all while keeping it at only 40g weight making these standard 8.5mm motors feel like they have plenty of useable power and a massive 6 minute flight time. For me, the props being almost entirely out of the frame of the camera is a big positive and once they are moving I couldn't see them in frame at all. The QX90 fails here, the QX80 is better and the Fire104 is the best with nothing in view however the light handling and colour/contrast are not as good as the QX range in dusk settings, especially if not flying low to the ground.
I have not looked at the PIDs or rates, just bound it up , set endpoints, flight modes and went to my favourite FPV picnic spot to let this critter stretch it's wings. It's the lightest cleanflight/8.5mm motor quad I have and feels like it plus the stock PIDS feel smoother on this then the others in the QX range with considerably less prop wash oscillation when descending. All brushed micros do this when you descend through turbulent air but somehow the QX95 barely wobbled and let me descend with ease whether it be a slight adjustment to the height to duck under a picnic table or descend while scooting round a trees. It's a subtle difference obvious with a back to back comparison with other models. I also don't get the slightly notchy bottom end low rpm throttle with my TH9X and FRsky module with this quad that I do get on the other QX quads so it feels as slinky and precise as the Scisky quads but with less wobbles and a better camera.

As usual, it's not all perfect and i'll start with the motor mounts. They work ok. I don't like them. They are easy to work with and fairly light but allow movement and misalignment in the perfect vertical of the motors plus there's no zero motor cap protection. In practice, this isn't an issue in how well it flies.
The props are Hubsan style like the QX90 and in keeping with that, they also fly off in flight as they are just too loose. The black ones seem much tighter and there's a full set of spares so I suggest using those or swapping out for some QX80/Walkera style props as I did here.
There was some weird purple circular/teardrop repeated pattern around the edges of the screen and the lens was totally clean so I can only guess this is some kind of internal reflection or refraction happening. I was pretty shocked how vivid it looked in teh first 20 seconds of so and then thought it actually went as I looked straight past it and focused on the image. I've never had this on 30 plus other FPV camera I have looked through so i'd guess it's a random fault. I'd love to know what it is, can I get rid of it and does anyone else have this? The range and clean video feed obliterated any issues there and the smooth ride made this QX95 take the the lead in my personal favourite brushed micro FPV quad.

Walkera props that fit great and come balanced well. QX80 props work great too if you can find them on their own. I wasn't able.

Stock 600mah lipo and perfect for this quad. Any 300 - 700mah will work but 500 - 600mah is the sweetspot.
