What if the Soviet Union didn't collapse after the Perestroika? What would their television channels look like today? This is the first part of a series, in which I will demonstrate my view of Soviet television in the year 2011.
First of all, I have to pay some homage and give some respect to age234 for making the 'Fernsehen der DDR' concept a few years ago. Without that video, this clip wouldn't probably exist.
Then, a little bit more about the video itself. This is supposed to be an example of television channel surfing in Estonian SSR in the year 2011. Yes, I know the USSR collapsed in 1991, but I just wanted to think about their possible television networks, if they would've survived after the Perestroika (burn in hell, Gorba!).
I made the motion graphics myself and took a couple of loops from movietools.info - coming up with the visions and ideas was neither hard nor easy.
A few words about the historical and political references: While making 'Eesti nüüd', I kept the Estonian parliament's real name - Riigikogu - because I couldn't come up with anything better. The Communist Party leader is Heino Rüütel, because he is the current leader of the Estonian United Leftist Party.
And for you Eesti folks watching this clip: sorry for all the bad grammar. I don't really speak much Estonian (even though I am Finnish), so I had to use Google Translate. Enjoy!
