The Northville Placid Trail 2021 Rachel + Wylder

Описание: This little trail. While I guess maybe you wouldn't consider 138 miles little, this trail wore me down. It wore me down and stole my heart in every sense. 9 days spent living out of a backpack, going from campsite to campsite, taking in all the misery and all the rewards the Adirondacks had to offer us and everything in between. 9 days spent just living in the moment, letting go the static of the world, loosing track of time and forgetting what day it even was. And you know what was the best part? I got to share it all with Wylder. I followed his lead on the good days and the hard days. The day I wish I wasn't on trail and the days I was so incredibly happy to be there. I followed his lead through the unknown and with his goofy grin and big brown eyes, he never led me astray. This journey was as much as his as it was mine and I was so proud he did it. We did it together.
This video isn't how I'd hope to portray our journey on the NPT. After it not starting as planned, to bad weather a couple days and our friends making the hard decision to call it a trip due to injury and various other aspects, there was definitely lack in motivation to capture it. It doesn't show our route change in the beginning, it doesn't show the sideways rain and all the difficult parts of the trail. It doesn't show the moment I thought about going home, the 18 mile days or more of the suffery parts of the whole trail. It also doesn't show how many peanut M&M's were consumed on the duration of this trip. I guess you could say this video has more of my favorite parts instead. I had hoped this video would tell more of a story. But I suppose in its own way it does. A story of 3 friends and their dogs walking around the remote wilderness of the Adirondacks with 40lb packs on. ♥️
