"Democrats were pretty down on their party after losing the 2024 presidential election. And even though they've had a string of recent wins in special elections, morale really hasn't recovered. New AP-NORC polling shows that about 7 in 10 Democrats have a favorable opinion of the Democratic Party. And even though that's a majority, that's not really improved from after they lost the presidential election."

"Separate polling shows that the Democrats are more frustrated with their party than the Republicans are with theirs. There is some good news for the Democrats in the AP-NORC polling, however. In a year where health care is a top concern for many Americans, the polling shows that Democrats are seen as the party that is better equipped to handle that issue. But they have not been able to make gains on issues where the Republicans are losing ground, including the economy and immigration. There is a lot of negativity around both parties right now, and we'll be watching these measures closely heading into the midterms."
