Check out the new rims and tires for the 1973 Mustang project!
The rims are from Team III Wheels and are called the LT-III (check out the link at the top of the description).
You may remember in a past video here on the Autoedit you tube channel when I measured the backspace for these wheels. Well...NAILED IT!
The footprint is really great on this car and the vintage look and the modern size of the ET - Wheels creates the perfect balance of awesome retro styling AND the ability to put high performance tires on.
Speaking of tires, I went with the brand new BFGoodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S model for the Mustang. This is a new tire that has strong performance characteristics but is also completely practical for daily use and all season driving. During the rest of the build and the dial in on the suspension of Ol' Large Marge...these tires are the perfect solution. Plus, as performance oriented tires go, they are really affordable.
The only downside at this point is the 275 rear width is as large as it gets for the 18". I believe that rear rim would look even better with a 285 section tire, so we'll see next year when we hit the track how these tires do!
