Blue chip companies are mega-cap companies worth tens of billions of dollars, the most recognizable brands on earth and with the most established businesses. These are companies with economies of scale that give them profit advantages over competitors and brands everyone knows.

This all acts to make these blue chip companies super-resilient in any kind of economy. In fact, we often see these companies build market share as smaller competitors struggle in a recession.
