Sweden's Power Problem

Описание: In December the Swedish government launched an inquiry with the goal to determine when and how the abolishment of fossil fuel vehicles should be carried out. This measure is only part of the wider societal electrification of Swedish infrastructure and increasing expansion of heavy electricity-dependent establishments such as server halls.

The outphasing of fossil fuels also has implications on the energy industry, which must develop in the same direction in order to reap the rewards of electrification. This poses issues in a country which has an aging power grid and where the sources of electricity are far away from the consumers, in particular when there is no wind and sunlight available for clean energy to be produced from. Paired with the heavy use of electricity in a cold country, the country might face a shortage of electricity in some areas.

In this video I explain the problems ahead and give my suggestions on what should be done to carry out the plans of the government.
