Описание: The late Karl Böhm has taken a lot of guff since his death for being "old fashioned" in his approach to the German standard repertoire, especially compared to what proponents of performances on period instruments expect. However, it's important to realize that he was one of the great representatives of the German tradition, dating well back into the nineteenth century. It was, and remains, a perfectly valid way to present this music. There is true greatness in this big box of symphonies by Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart and Schubert, and I'll let you in on its strengths and weaknesses.
