Day one of my Bluff Circuit up in the Alpine National Park saw me walking from Eight Mile Camp up Eight Mile Spur Track to The Bluff. This was a fairly brutal climb for me as I hadn't been on an overnight walk since I'd got off my Stewart Island Circuit in late December. I climbed Eight Mile Spur Track to Refrigerator Gap where I picked up The Bluff Walking Track to climb up to the summit plateau through the final bluffs and cliff lines. Once on the plateau I enjoyed a wonderful camp tucked into a grove of snow gums with some amazing long range views. This was also my first night in my new HMG Unbound 2 tent.
