CHARLESTON, W.Va.– A Charleston teen found guilty of acting as a lookout in a January 2024 murder has been sentenced to prison.
Barack Williams appeared in Kanawha County Circuit Court on Wednesday to be sentenced in the death of Charleston Tobacco and Pipe Shop employee Caden Martin.Kanawha County judge Maryclaire Akers handed down a sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole after 15 years.
According to West Virginia Code, a juvenile cannot receive a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
Prosecutors claimed Williams, then-14, acted as a lookout while Bre’Juan Williams-Hampton robbed the smoke shop before gunning down the 19-year-old employee, Caden Martin.
