What began as a missing person search has now become a homicide investigation. Eight weeks after he was reported missing, human remains were discovered in fields on his farm near Kenmare, Ireland. Gardaí have since confirmed that the remains, found in a slurry tank and across the surrounding farmland, belonged to the missing 56-year-old.

A man who had been living on the farm, Michael Kelley, was arrested in connection with the case but later released without charge. No other arrests have been made.

Gardaí have now launched an internal review into the handling of the investigation.

Through interviews with journalists and those who knew Michael best, this documentary pieces together the mystery that has shaken a rural community.
