Earlier this year I completed the first watercolor book I ever built with my own hands. The process of building it was as much fun as the process of filling it with illustrations, sketches and studies.

For a while, I had been experimenting with different types of paper to see if I had a preference, and to be completely honest, I still don't have a real preference. I have several other sketchbooks and journals I purchased that have different types of paper and I enjoy them all.
However, 100% cotton paper is definitely a premium type and offers a wide range of possibilities. The problem is that journals with this type of paper are very expensive and this is why I decided to build my own journals by buying large sheets of good quality paper, cutting them down and binding them into a book format.
This is the very first journal I built but it will certainly not be the last one!
