Описание: The Shire was the homeland of the majority of the hobbits in Middle-earth. It was a joyful and beautiful land, quite densely populated in certain areas, with many villages and a few towns. It still was open enough to allow for wide forested areas and marshes.

"In a hole in the ground there lived a Hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a Hobbit-hole, and that means comfort." — Opening sentence of The Hobbit.

Bag End was a Hobbit-hole situated at the end of Bagshot Row in Hobbiton. It was the home of Bilbo Baggins, where he lived a quiet existence until the wizard Gandalf appeared with thirteen Dwarves at the beginning of The Hobbit, and Bilbo went off on his first adventure. And of course, this was where Frodo lived when he and Sam set off to destroy the Ring.
