One-One Function (Injective Function)
A function is called one-one if different elements of the domain have different images in the codomain.
👉 In simple words:
One input → one unique output
No two different inputs give the same output.
📌 Key points:
If , then
No repetition of outputs
Every one-one function is an into function, but not always onto
🧠 Example:

Different values of give different values of , so it is one-one.

🔹 Into Function
A function is called into if every element of the domain is mapped to the codomain, but some elements of the codomain are left unused.
👉 In simple words:
Range is a proper subset of codomain
📌 Key points:
Not all elements of codomain are images
Some values in codomain have no pre-image
Opposite of onto function
🧠 Example:
Let
Domain = {1, 2, 3}
Codomain = {2, 4, 6, 8}
If

Then 8 is unused, so the function is into.
