Trump blames Biden's immigration policies for fatal National Guard shooting near White House

Описание: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the two National Guard members who were shot last week in Washington, D.C. "heroes" as the Trump administration continues to blame former President Joe Biden for failing to vet the Afghan national suspected of committing the crime. U.S. Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was killed and U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, was critically injured. Both were deployed to the nation's capital from West Virginia as part of Trump's crackdown on crime in bigger cities. The suspect, 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal, faces one count of first-degree murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed. Lakanwal came to the U.S. from Afghanistan in 2021 and reportedly worked with the U.S. war effort in the country, including working with the CIA.He was granted asylum in the U.S. in April of this year.
