From New Age, Ayahuasca To Jesus

My name is Samuel Jacobson, I was born in Iraq Kurdistan as Muslim. I knew very early I was attracted to men and that I was gay. I moved to Sweden as a refugee in 1990, I was 15 years old. I thought I would be happy in a country without war and I could live as a gay man but instead I became more and more depressed.
In 2001 I packed my bags and moved to Los Angeles and lived there for about 17 years, I worked as a real estate agent and had a very successful career, I was top realtor number 24 in the nation in 2016, I had several boyfriends, I had money, I flew by private jet but I was still unhappy.

I started practicing New Age, became Reiki Master level 3, did yoga, Transcendental Meditation, Hypnosis but nothing helped me.

In 2017 I was at a party with my boyfriend at the time and there was a good looking guy who said that he had left homosexuality and had given his life to Jesus Christ. I thought to myself, “Poor guy, someone has brainwashed him.” I was a proud gay man and I would get angry if anyone implied that homosexuality is something to be saved from!

Six months after that, one of my niece who had been struggling with drug addiction since she was 13, also said she met Jesus Christ and I saw how she became free from all depression and drug use. It was a true miracle!

I too became interested in getting to know Jesus and I gave my life to Christ in July 2017 and it is the best decision I have ever made. I have never ever had more peace and joy in my life as I do now.

I have been saved about 2 years now and the peace and joy that I have, surpasses all human understanding and I do not miss anything from my old life, Jesus Christ has given me victory over homosexuality.

When I tell people that I have repented from homosexuality and I follow Christ, many feel sorry for me and think that I am denying my identity or that I turned my back on the gay community. But the truth is, that God has saved me from a life of pain and selfishness and self destruction and I wish more people would give Jesus Christ a chance.

We are not our desires and impulses, we are created in the image of God and when we return to God and believe in Jesus Christ, God welcomes us with open arms, He loves us so much that He gave us His only begotten Son. God rejects no one who comes to Him with an honest heart and a desire to know The Only True Living God, in returning to God, the peace and joy, surpasses anything else on this earth!

Apostle Paul writes in the Bible :

“More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ.”
Philippians 3:8
