We took our ten year old to his first concert and just like me, his first was a Shakin Stevens show (albeit supporting one of the greatest classic rock bands of the 20th and 21st century, Status Quo.
He thoroughly enjoyed the Shaky part, occasionally screaming “We love you Shaky!” through the crooner’s part. In particular Merry Christmas Everyone which I think he would have been upset about if he didn’t do.
After the interval you could be forgiven if you needed ear defenders for this part because things got very loud but very awesome at the same time. Francis Rossi and friends playing under Status Quo since losing the dear departed Rick Parfitt.
My boy wasn’t too keen as it was too loud for him but honestly it was brilliant. Francis was hilarious with his banter and the songs sounded as great as always!
Full disclosure, my phone battery died about half way through Rocking All Over The World, which was to be the last song. They then came back on with an encore of Burning Bridges. So it’s the full concert minus one and a bit songs…sorry!
