Assistant Minister of Interior: It is no longer necessary for citizens or residents to carry a physical plastic ID

Assistant Minister of Interior for Technical Affairs, Prince Dr. Bandar bin Abdullah Al-Mashari Al Saud, said in an interview with “Al-Arabiya” channel, that citizens and residents carrying of the physical plastic ID is no longer necessary after obtaining the digital ID from the new Absher Individual application.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Interior represented by the Civil Status launched an electronic copy of the national identity in the Ministry of Interior’s electronic application “Absher Individuals” under the name of “Digital ID”, in cooperation with the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence represented by the National Information Center.
