What to do with a psychology degree

Описание: If you’re an undergraduate trying to figure out what to do with a psychology degree, you might consider using it to accelerate into the nursing profession. That’s what Xavier ABSN student Sarah did.

In fact, she relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, all the way from Vancouver, Washington, to attend our university. “This was the program where I could start the fastest and be done the fastest,” she said. “Not to mention, I found the price point of Xavier to be a lot more reasonable than other ABSN programs.”

Prior to nursing school, Sarah worked at an inpatient facility as a mental health case manager. At one point, she considered advancing her psychology education to become a mental health counselor. But her thoughts switched to nursing after talking to a nurse who opened up her mind to the profession.

“I discovered nursing was a better fit for my personality,” she said. “I like the idea of being able to provide patients with some form of immediate relief, which is impossible as a mental health counselor given the longer plateau for patients to recover. Plus, there are more career options in nursing.”
