The reasons for its abandonment are subject to various theories: financial difficulties, disputes over land use, and a supposed lightning strike on March 13, 1998, which caused irreparable damage and was not covered by insurance. Since then, the park has been abandoned and has become a popular spot for explorers and photographers, as nature has reclaimed the land with vegetation and ruins. The park is considered one of the most enchanting and frightening places in Bali, with rumors of supernatural presences.
