🔺Σημείωμα Στον Δίσκο:
Manos Hadjidakis is one of the world's foremost composers of popular music. His Never On Sunday is probably the most sung, most whistled, most hummed, most played, most recorded, and most danced to song of the past decade. He composed the score to the film "Never On Sunday" as well as the title song, and the music for "Ilya Darling", the Broadway show based on the film. "Topkapi" was hailed as one of his brightest movie scores and the theme for the moving film "America, America” won him more laurels.
The New York Rock & Roll Ensemble has achieved much fame over the past two years for its uniquely style rock music with classical overtones. Their acclaim on the college circuit has been noteworthy; in a very short time they have become one of the top concert acts on campuses across the country. In addition to a large following of young rock fans they have also built a surprising amount of advocates among "good music" and even classical buffs.
A meeting between the famous composer and the New York rock group occurred last summer when Manos Hadjidakis visited the Atlantic recording studios when the NYR&RE were recording their album “Faithful Friends". Out of that fortuitous meeting grew a wonderfully close and extremely creative association that led to this album, "Reflections", with music by Hadjidakis and words by members of the NYR&RE. It contains 10 songs, eight with lyrics by the Ensemble. The songs are tender and evocative, played and sung by the NYR&RE with the tastefulness and warmth that have become their trademark. The combination of the famous composer from Greece and five rock musicians from New York City is rather unusual, but, ah, what lovely music they create together.
