Today we look at #NIO #STOCK - the company just reported Q2 earnings, and the deliveries number year/year is still really impressive - doubling deliveries over the past 12 months. However, when we look deeper into the numbers, NIO’s gross vehicle margin went down Q/Q - and is at least 20% lower than where Tesla has been over the past year. Additionally, the competition in the China EV space is really competitive, and we wonder if NIO will be able to expand margins.
Considering NIO has a $74B valuation, the company is losing money and faces regulatory & competitive issues Tesla has already conquered in the United States, we wonder if Tesla is simply a better EV investment versus NIO at the current time.
