Описание: On January 30, 2026, in Crescent City, California, a Del Norte County Sheriff’s deputy requested assistance from the California Highway Patrol for a DUI investigation after observing a Chevrolet Silverado weaving within its lane and nearly striking curbs. The vehicle was stopped in a Jack in the Box parking lot when CHP officers arrived, the officers made contact with the driver and observed objective signs of alcohol impairment, including the odor of an alcoholic beverage, red and watery eyes, and slurred speech. The driver admitted to consuming approximately three to four beers and a mixed drink prior to driving. The driver also performed a series of field sobriety tests but showed multiple indicators of impairment. Records further indicated the driver was on active DUI probation at the time of the stop, with conditions including not driving with any measurable alcohol in their system.
A preliminary alcohol screening test was administered, with reported results of approximately 0.174% and 0.152% BAC. A subsequent evidential breath test later produced results of approximately 0.17% and 0.15% BAC.
