Just 6.5 hours from Normandy, we discovered Super-Besse, a small, family-friendly ski resort that proves skiing in France doesn’t have to be expensive, stressful, or exhausting.

We had a very snowy week, with fresh powder almost every day — but instead of rushing to ski non-stop, we slowed down. We enjoyed gentle skiing, tobogganing, snowy walks, cosy cafés, and simply being in the mountains. This is skiing the French way: relaxed, joyful, and uncomplicated.
