In this video we introduce the concept of altered bass chords, and we examine the triad with the bass on the lowered 2nd degree. This chord can assume the function of a diminished chord or it can replace major chords.
Altered bass chords are an excellent tool to give a modern, spicy sonority in reharmonization, while maintaining the strength and the simplicity of the triad (+ one note :)
