The city of Mysuru in Karnataka, India is successfully using new technology to transform its city bus services into a modern, safe, and efficient system, making it attractive for commuters to use public transport.
The Intelligent Transport System (ITS) uses GPS enabled mini-computers to monitor the speed and coordinates of each of the 400+ city buses and also allows passengers to track their arrival time online or on mobile phones.
