In November 2025, a transformative workshop and plenary speech by Dian Septi of Asia Floor Wage Alliance (AFWA) significantly strengthened cross-border solidarity between US labour women and Asian garment workers.  

At the 23rd Biennial Coalition for Labor Union Women (CLUW) Convention in San Diego, California, delegates stood united—adopting Resolution 6 to pledge solidarity with Asian garment workers and support AFWA’s #FightTheHeist and #ViolenceOutOfFashion campaigns on wage theft and gender-based violence and harassment (GBVH).

Together, US union women are committing to cross-border pressure on global brands in garment supply chains and stronger, safer union-led workplaces.
