Elevator Tour | IKEA Alam Sutera, Tangerang, ID

Описание: Elevator Tour at the first IKEA store in Indonesia which opened in 2014. This tour covers all public elevators, escalators as well as moving walk in the store, starting from the underground parking level up to the showroom and then back at the parking level. All the vertical transportations here are by KONE.

Like many IKEA megastores around the world, nearly all the elevators here are large sized freight type. There are six public elevators here and all of them are the KONE TranSys type with a 3000 and 5000 kg capacity. Nothing has changed much here since my last visit in 2016 apart from the button light which have been changed from blue to white. Sadly the voice announcement in all elevators still says the wrong floor even after ten years this place was opened. Looks like they haven't bothered to fix that; I'm not trying to be a fuss here, but it would've been nice to hear the voice saying the correct floor.

The first elevator goes from the parking level up to the main entrance/lobby, and although the shaft is glass the elevator itself sadly isn't. In there, each COP has only one floor button correspond to the side where the doors open which is a bit annoying and confusing IMO. The second elevator which goes up to the Showroom level is the only one having glass doors and window at the back. As it is designed as a "one-way" elevator only, the call button on the upper floor is covered out and you can't call it from there, thought it's still possible to ride it when someone gets off. The third elevator, which goes down from the cafe to the Market hall is the same like the first elevator so I don't need to tell more about it. It's worth to note that both the Showroom and Market hall elevator actually shares the same shaft but their door on the lower floor is separated by a wall due to the segregation between the store's paid and unpaid areas.

The most interesting elevators are in the exit/collection point area, for one obvious reason. These three elevators are MASSIVE with 5000 kg capacity and are the largest public elevators in the store. They also have different ceilings and floorings compared to the rest of the elevators. Until the gigantic 9100 kg capacity Dubai Airport elevators, these were the largest elevators I've filmed.
