Описание: Our Brazil journey continues on Ilha de Marajó, the world’s largest river island, where the Amazon River meets the Atlantic Ocean. We travel through Belém and take the speed ferry across the delta to reach this remote and fascinating place.
Marajó blends quiet villages, open savanna, jungle, and long empty beaches. We explore the island on motorbikes, meet the famous water buffalo that roam freely, and learn how they’re raised for both meat and the island’s mozzarella-style cheese. Along the way we find giant mango trees, Jesuit mission ruins, and wildlife including scarlet ibis, roseate spoonbills, and howler monkeys.
We cross between Salvaterra and Soure, wander through tropical forest, and spend time on deserted beaches that feel far from the rest of the world. Marajó is a hidden corner of the Amazon shaped by tides, wildlife, and tradition.
