This week was one of the busiest weeks on the political front. Parliament passed the much awaited political party funding bill. Former Free State premier Ace Magashule was thrown a widely controversial farewell party reported to be worth R20 million. Still on the ANC, party members are barred from wearing the party's regalia or use its structures to support former president Jacob Zuma when he appears in court on corruption charges next week. However, the biggest of all the political stories this week is arguably the postponement of Nelson Mandela Bay Mayor Athol Trollip's motion of no confidence. To unpack these stories and more ….
