Makerere University on Thursday launched the first diesel engine manufactured in Uganda.
The one-stroke engine can be used for pumping water and generating electricity among other functions.
Speaking to NTV, Rogers Mubiru one of the brains behind the product says the engine was made from local materials, including clay, sand and aluminium.
