Kailasanathar temple was built in 7th century CE by the Pallava king Narasimhavarman II. Kailasanathar Temple located on the banks of the Vedavathi River in Kanchipuram is one of the oldest temples in entire Tamil Nadu.
Even the great Raja Raja Chola visited this temple and drew inspiration from here to build the grand Brihadeeswara Temple in Tanjore.
