Vuoristorata, Linnanmäki - side friction wooden rollercoaster

Описание: Vuoristorata (literally "rollercoaster" in Finnish) was built at Linnanmäki in Helsinki, Finland. It is the last side friction wooden rollercoaster ever built, and still features a brakeman who's job is to stop the train from leaving the tracks.

The coaster was originally designed as a temporary attraction as part of the city's hosting of the 1952 Olympic Games, but it proved so popular it has become a permanent and much loved part of the amusement park and of Helsinki itself. It is perhaps fitting that it is clearly visible from the Olympic Stadium's tower.
