To Each His Own (Livingston-Evans) by Eddy Howard & his Orchestra, vocal by Eddy Howard and Trio
Among the various competitors, Eddy’s was the biggie...spending over a month atop the best-sellers chart. But, most unusually, there were two other versions of the song that also reached #1 (Freddy Martin and The Ink Spots) plus two more that hit the top-5 (The Modernaires and Tony Martin). All of those are included in this posting, as is the other Eddy Howard hit of 1946 “The Rickety Rickshaw Man.”
Though “To Each His Own” shared the same name as the popular 1946 movie that earned a Best Actress Oscar for Olivia de Havilland, the tune did not appear in the film.
