This week, we head into the mountain highlands after two weeks of relentless rain and wind that brought the season’s first snowfall. Fallen trees littered the roads, forcing us to stop and clear multiple blockages just to continue. Eventually, we reached the road leading to the highest vehicle access point on the mountain. As we climbed higher, the road narrowed dramatically. With the truck beginning to slide toward the edge, we were forced to turn back.
