TRICON Review & Score for ESS Fanny Pack

To complete a thorough review, you’ve got to put the work in to gather information. It takes time. But if done properly, the information is hugely valuable.

This video is our Baseline Cold Test for the Elite Survival Systems HIP GUNNER Fanny Pack. I’m using an Sig P365 Micro with Holsun 507k secured in a Tulster IWB Profile holster. My first impression, I like it a lot.

The cold test produced a first shot average of 2.50 and total time average of 3.06. I could probably shave a couple tenths of a second off with more practice, but will be testing other fanny pack offerings. Using the Scoring System we created this pack ranked #1 at the moment with a score of 22/30 points or a 73%. With a few modifications I’m sure the score could be up in the 80%; which to be honest is pretty damn good.

What I like about this pack is while a little bit oversized for my tastes it carries my loadout well with some cushioning material against my body. The velcro patch and strap in the main compartment allows me to add my preferred holster to protect the trigger and ensure consistent firing grip. Reloads are not terrible, but slower. I’d like to see a smaller version and one without pull tabs, but instead lockable zippers. I also hate having the FASTEX buckle on the left side and prefer a closed loop or at least a Tri-Glide to better secure the bitter end.

The leadoff pack Baseline Cold Test set the bar pretty high so we will see if other packs are able to top this one.
