With your right hand fingers off the club (for right hand players) and just the palm on the grip, do practice swings or even hit balls with a half swing. Keep the fingers off the club, but maintain pressure against the grip with the palm of your hand.
This will help train you to hold shaft flex though and beyond impact, the key to great ball striking.
If you can successfully do this drill, you will understand why Ben Hogan wished he had 3 right hands.
