It was a special day on the bike. Along the coast, taking in the sights (and exhibitions) along the way to the hills... but first, an ad-hoc, utterly impromptu participation in a local cultural festival. Then up perhaps the most beautiful climb I've ever done before easily the best mid-ride lunch I've ever had.
The scenery kept coming, as did the surprises. It was indeed a ride to remember.
This was Monday, 3 November 2025.
It's the 'Story Of My Ride' and I wonder if it may actually be The Best Ride I Have Ever Had. It is certainly a contender for the title. #RideInEhime #ToBeContinued ... more stories from Japan still to come.

Our Tour – The Bunch
During the course of this series you'll get to know the people involved in the one-week adventure in Ehime. I was one of six Australians invited to get a taste of the cycling culture in this part of Japan. The other cyclists were:
• Peeter Febriyanto, Pedal Brisbane – @pedalbrisbane
• Adam Gill, Bike Style Tours – @bikestyletours
• Mark Priestley, Lifecycle Garage – @lifecyclegarage
• Charleigh Razeng, Outdoor Travel
• Paul Silk, Wide Open Road Cycle Tours – @wideopenroadcycletours
Our hosts, who catered for the trip with class, understanding, and some of the best cycling terrain I've ever ridden were Sam Barclay and Miho Ogura of Hidden Japan Travel.
