The primary distinction between Zoom for Government and the regular Zoom platform lies in its heightened security and compliance measures. This version operates on its own separate cloud environment, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud, which is an isolated instance designed to host sensitive data and regulated workloads. The platform has been granted an Authority to Operate (ATO) under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), ensuring it complies with the strictest U.S. government security and compliance standards. This makes it suitable for a range of governmental activities, from routine meetings to classified briefings. The tailored security features ensure that communication within the government remains confidential and secure, providing officials and their teams peace of mind as they conduct their operations.
